Six of Spades

Notkin Mechanical Engineers invited several architecture firms to contribute to the design of a deck of playing cards, with the theme of 'Architecture in the Pacific Northwest.'

Goodspeed Architecture drew the Six of Spades, and reinterpreted them as arrowheads of obsidian, setting on slate, photographed under the characteristic soft light of a wet sky.

The collection of original artwork has been exhibited at Benaroya Hall and Seattle City Hall. Included in the above imagery is a sampling of other firms' cards as well.
